What was it?

My time at ODU has provided me with the opportunity to engage with various research projects and programs to sharpen my skills. One of these was the IDS 300W course which is Interdisciplinary Theory and Concepts. This course provided me with the opportunity to engage in research and writing that spans multiple disciplines, enhancing my ability to think critically and communicate effectively across various fields.

How it Applies to Cybersecurity

Engaging in interdisciplinary research is crucial for a career in cybersecurity, as the field often intersects with various domains such as law, ethics, technology, and human behavior. The skills I developed in IDS 300W have enabled me to approach cybersecurity challenges from a broader perspective, considering not only the technical aspects but also the societal and ethical implications. My experience in the IDS 300W course has been instrumental in my development as a cybersecurity professional. It has enhanced my research and writing skills, allowing me to effectively communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences. Additionally, the interdisciplinary nature of the course has broadened my perspective, enabling me to approach cybersecurity challenges with a more comprehensive understanding of their implications.
